Let Us Bring the Dummerston Library to You!

Books on Wheels is a free outreach service available to any Dummerston resident who is unable to visit the Library in person but would like regular access to fiction and non-fiction books, large print books, audiobooks, e-books, CD’s, DVD’s and Blu-rays, etc.

Who is eligible?

Any resident of Dummerston who is confined to home due to limited mobility, illness, injury, lack of transportation, temporary or permanent disability, or some other reason is eligible for regular home delivery of library materials.

How does this program work?

  • Volunteers deliver library books, movies, etc. to residents in their homes on a regular basis and, if desired, also socialize and/or read together.
  • Participants have the choice to request specific items or have items selected for them.
  • Individuals may order items ahead from the Dummerston Library, by phone or online.

How long may I keep materials?

A participant and the volunteer may decide to set up a schedule that works best for them (e.g., every two or three weeks is common). Or, a volunteer’s visit can be arranged as needed.

Do I need a library card?

Yes, and it’s free and easy. Call the Library Director at (802) 258-9878.

How do I register for Books on Wheels?

Just let the Library Director know you’re interested by calling (802) 258-9878 or email: DummerstonLibrary@gmail.com
